Ok, so in my biz, I was planning to buy more inventory to keep the new venture going. And I still plan to. And I was thinking that God would understand if I made that purchase before I gave to the church, waiting a day or so to send in my offering, because I wanted to make sure the stuff would get here asap. And instead, after considering my plan, I did a quick pivot and gave to the church instead- trusting that everything would work out. Because that’s what we’re supposed to do.
And so of course, a chunk of money was deposited into my account this morning so I can purchase some stuff. I could have put God second and it would have worked out, more than likely. But would I have missed a blessing if I put my business first? I think so…
Because this morning a video presented itself to me with a Bible verse (Ezekiel 44:28) and while that verse wasn’t specifically addressing my situation, verse 30 did. The second part of verse 30 said: “You are to give your first batch of dough to the priests so that a blessing may rest on your homes.”
First of all- we are talking about the dough that you make when you are making food. Food isn’t that big of a deal (is it?). But even that small, daily item that we create and consume is considered when it comes to giving God what is His. So OF COURSE I was supposed to give God what belongs to Him anyway, before I purchase what I think I need for the biz. Because I want that blessing more than I need that stuff.
Matter of fact, His blessing brings me everything I need. In business, and in life. I believe that.
